12 Months of What?

12 Months of Lent was a personal project and blog that I kept from 2009-2013 where I assigned myself a different personal challenge to complete each month—a sort of hybrid between the concept of Lent and a New Year’s Resolution (just with less religion and more frequency).

The goal was to borrow Lent’s underlying concept (personal sacrifice and dedication for a set period of time) and use it to push myself towards making headway on my goals. Each month, I assigned myself a different challenge, or “Lent”, to complete with the intention of living a more purposeful and fulfilling life—and it actually worked.

You can read the backstory story of how the blog got started here and read my final post here.

The Girl Behind the Lent

Hello! I’m Danne—just Danne, not short for Danielle and pronounced like Danny (I won’t even get into my crazy Polish last name here, there isn’t enough space). I’m a Marketing and Communications Specialist based out of Ann Arbor, MI, originally hailing from the heart—or the bicep, depending on how you look at it—of Cape Cod, MA. I’m also an avid yogi (not to mention a registered Hatha Yoga & Meditation teacher), a cat lover (I have an 18-pounder named Fanne at home), a vegetarian (I celebrate 20 years in 2015!), and a someone who’s inflicted with an insatiable case of wanderlust. I’m always seeking out new opportunities and my next big adventure.

    • Thanks so much for the nomination Kelly! I had someone nominate me a few months ago too and as sweet as it is, I feel a little uncomfortable accepting it because I honestly don’t read enough blogs that fit the criteria to nominate people myself! Looks like I have some homework to do…

  1. Hi! I just found your blog through lululemon and wanted to say thanks for the inspiration. I’m going to try out some of your challenges on my blog.
